Adrian Atkinson-Blimey is a character in Not For Broadcast.

Description[ | ]

Dr Adrian Atkinson-Blimey is a celebrity best known for his work as the host of Incisors, a television show on Channel One where he would grill a variety of guests, such as leading economist Katie Brightman and popular parrot Hamilton Squarkbox. Alongside Incisors, he'd host several other shows on the network, such as 'Adrian's Architects'.

Personality[ | ]

Adrian Atkinson-Blimey is described as being forthright and abrasive in his interviewing style. He cares about the quality of his programme, descending into humiliation as it diminishes and becomes more of a chat show than an interrogation.[1]

Additionally, though Adrian Atkinson-Blimey doesn't personally appear during the broadcast, footage of the most recent political debate he moderated, between prime ministerial candidates Peter Clement, Jacob Hamilton-Mann, and Henry McNair, is shown.

Trivia[ | ]

  • In Not For Broadcast's PAX West Demo, Adrian Atkinson-Blimey originally had the title of 'sir', and was stated as taking on reigning champion Professor Edith Swallow-Hard in the semi-finals of The Quotation Game, with his role as the host of Incisors instead going to a Dr Daniel Friscatti. Adrian's subsequent role assumption was due to his name resonating with the NotGames development team more than that of Friscatti's as a Jeremy Paxman-like chat show host.[2]
